What is Programming Essentials
Programming Essentials is a two-day training for beginners in the Java programming language. The training is also very suitable as an introduction to programming for non-technical people, when they are in daily contact with software engineers and want to experience what it takes to write a piece of software.
The first half of the first day is about the environment in which the Java programmer lives. We are going to talk about the competencies, skills and mindset of a programmer. With which other actors does the Java programmer come into contact? What kind of information does a business analyst expect from a programmer and vice versa. We also look at types of projects and processes where a software engineer can be involved. The other half of the first day and the entire second day is about programming itself.
We go through a selection of basic concepts of Java and learn how to deal with this in a fun way. All object-oriented principles are discussed with extensive examples. Unit testing and general test concepts are discussed as well as documentation in Unified Modeling Language. Finally, we start with interactively working onsoftware quality and everything this implies.
During the second day, students will work on a case individually or in a small group, where they will place every new, learned step in in real piece of functioning code. At the end of the second day everyone takes home their own code and working functionality.Who should attend Programming Essentials
