    What is SAFe® Advanced Scrum Master (SASM)

    This two-day training is meant as an in-depth training to better fulfill your role as Scrum Master in a SAFe environment. We will, among other things, discuss the recognition of anti-patterns and how you can respond to them. Of course we pay attention to the facilitation of SAFe events at the level of the Agile Release Train. We will also discuss topics such as flow, Kanban, quality and XP. And last but not least, continuous improvement to achieve high performing teams plays a role in the training.

    Who should attend SAFe® Advanced Scrum Master (SASM)

    This course is primarily intended for those who (will) fulfill the role of Scrum Master within a SAFe environment and already have some experience as a Scrum Master. If you don't have any experience with the role of the Scrum Master yet, we recommend the SAFe Scrum Master course. On the other hand, despite the word “Advanced” in the title of this course, we also find that the topics covered in this course contain important basic knowledge and skills for Scrum Masters.
    This course is the official SAFe course and is delivered by certified trainers. The SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM) certification exam is included in the course. The cost of the exam is part of the course price. You will take this online exam at a time and place of your own choice, but within 30 days of the course. In the Scaled Agile online learning environment, you will have access to an e-learning prior to attending the course and to the digital workbook that accompaniesthe course. You can also use this environment to take a practice test (mock exam). Included in the course is a one-year membership of the SAFe Community Platform. This platform gives you access to videos, discussion forums, toolkits and templates. This course is based on the most recent version of SAFe.

    Prerequisites

    We expect you to already have some experience as a Scrum Master and preferably some prior knowledge of SAFe.

    Attendees learn:

    • How to apply SAFe principles to facilitate, enable, and coach in a multi-team environment
    • How to adopt scalable engineering practices, Kanban, DevOps, and Agile architecture to optimize flow
    • How to advance your facilitation skills for ART and team event planning, execution, and delivering end-to-end value
    • How to build communities of practice to support high-performing teams and ART efficiency
    • How to lead distributed teams effectively in remote environments

    SAFe Advanced Scrum Master answers the questions:

    • What’s the next step in my learning as a SAFe Scrum Master?
    • How can I improve my coaching and facilitation skills to support my team?
    • What are common anti-patterns to avoid when encouraging relentless improvement at scale?
