What is SAFe® DevOps (SDP)

SAFe DevOps offers you an introduction to DevOps, based on the CALMR (Culture, Automation, Lean, Measure, Recover) approach of DevOps in the Scaled Agile Framework.
Thus, it is not a general introductory SAFe-training (see Leading SAFe for that: https://academy.capgemini.nl/en/course/leading-safe-en).
The emphasis in the training is on practical tools to improve the time-to-market and quality in your own working environment.
During the training you create a Value Stream Map of your current Delivery Pipeline. Then go and discover what points you can work on for more speed and more quality in your process. We do this on thebasis of a case study and the DevOps Health Radar. The DevOps Health Radar offers you an assessment in four areas (Continuous Exploration, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and Release on Demand). We distinguish four important aspects within each area. In this way you get a picture of your current situation in 16 aspects.

This course is the official SAFe course and is delivered by certified trainers. The SAFe DevOps Practitioner (SDP) certification exam is included in the course. The cost of the exam is part of the course price. You will take this online exam at a time and place of your own choice, but within 30 days of the course. In the Scaled Agile online learning environment, you will have access to an e-learning prior to attending the course and to the digital workbook that accompanies the course. You can also use this environment to take a practice test (mock exam). If this is your first SAFe training, a one-year membership to SAFe Studio is included. Through SAFe Studio, you have access to e-learnings, videos, discussion forums, toolkits and templates. We always use the latest training materials from Scaled Agile.

Prerequisites

It is not necessary, but it is useful if you know something about the Scaled Agile Framework and have experience in (Agile) system development and/or operations. To prepare for the training, e-learnings on Agile, Scrum and SAFe will be provided. These preparations take about 3 hours.
During the training, you will work on mapping out and improving your team process. Before the training, think about your own context and what process to work on.
