    What is Dimensional Modeling

You are familiar with principles of data modelling, but you are about to face a new challenge: create a data model to support reports in a Business Intelligence environment. This reporting environment calls for a new approach of data modelling. Such approach is labelled as ‘dimensional modelling’.

You will be made familiar with terms like:

    • Fact tables
    • Dimensions
    • OLAP techniques
    • Kimball approach
    • Slicing/ dicing/ drill through
