This training has the subtitle "Aligning strategy with execution". And so it is about the connection between the (central) portfolio layer and the (decentralized) implementation. Because if you want to make the transformation to Lean Agile as an organization, then that is not limited to decentralized implementation. Change is also needed at the portfolio level!
Based on the SAFe framework, this training focuses on the three components of Lean Portfolio Management: Strategy and Investment Funding, Agile Portfolio Operations and Lean Governance. You will be provided with practical tools, such as working with a current and future portfolio canvas and the portfolio kanban. Of course we also discuss budgeting and measurement at portfolio level.

This training is primarily intended for:
- Executives and Leaders (CIOs, CEOs, CFOs, CTOs, VPs)
- Enterprise Architects
- Product Managers and Solution Managers
- Business Unit Managers
- Program Office employees
- SAFe Program Consultants and Enterprise Agile Coaches
- Human Resource employees
- Release Train Engineers
- Epic Owners
- Portfolio managers
This course is the official SAFe course and is delivered by certified trainers. The SAFe Lean Portfolio Manager (LPM) certification exam is included in the course. The cost of the exam is part of the course price. You will take this online exam at a time and place of your own choice, but within 30 days of the course. In the Scaled Agile online learning environment, you will have access to an e-learning prior to attending the course and to the digital workbook that accompaniesthe course. You can also use this environment to take a practice test (mock exam). Included in the course is a one-year membership of the SAFe Community Platform. This platform gives you access to videos, discussion forums, toolkits and templates. This course is based on the most recent version of SAFe.
Prerequisites
Everyone is welcome in itself, but the training is especially useful when you:
- are familiar with the general Agile concepts and principles and
- have completed a Leading SAFe or SAFe PO / PM training and
- have experience working in a SAFe environment
Objectives
Attendees learn:
- How to connect the portfolio to the enterprise
- How to maintain portfolio vision and roadmap
- How to establish Lean budgets and guardrails
- How to create portfolio flow
SAFe Lean Portfolio Management answers the questions:
- How do I connect strategy to execution?
- How do I manage flow and solve perpetual overload?
- How can I fund and govern dynamically?
- How does Lean Portfolio Management fit into SAFe?

- Exam duration: 90 minutes
