What is BABOK® Foundation
The field of Business Analysis is developing fast and there is a lack of a widely recognized structure and focus for the execution of BA activities. In response IIBA have developed the 'BA Body of Knowledge' (BABOK).
This is the de facto standard for the profession of Business Analysis and a generally accepted methodology.
You use BABOK to perform business analysis, to determine skills, estimate training requirements and plan career development. The international standards for the professionalism of Business Analysts, the CBAP & CCBA certifications are extensively covered in this training. This training is based on the most recent version, version 3 of BABOK.
You will become familiar with the strategic and relevant topics that are important for you in your role as a Business Analyst in an organization. Finally, you will also become familiar with the BABOK elements such as 'Key Concepts', 'Knowledge Areas', 'Tasks', 'Techniques', 'Underlying Competencies' and 'Relationship to other sources of information BA'.Who should attend BABOK® Foundation
This training is designed for Business Analysts and everyone who will be working with Business Analysts who are making use of BABOK.
You work for example in one of the following roles:- Junior Business Analist
- Medium and Senior Business Analists who want to become familiar with BABOK
- People, such as Architects, Project leaders and System developers, who work together with Business Analists who are using BABOK.
Prerequisites
You have to deal with business analysis in practice. There are prerequisites in the field of training or prior knowledge. Some experience with the field makes it easier to place the terms and the ideas of the BABOK Guide.
Objectives
At the end of the training you will be able to explain where, when and why you can apply BABOK. You know what BABOK regards as essential knowledge and skills to perform Business Analysis. You know the Knowledge Areas and the tasks in which they are performed. You can explain how the BABOK Guide describes techniques that you can use for business analysis and how techniques, competencies, tasks and knowledge areas are related. You can also name the Perspectives from which you can perform Business Analysis. Finally, you are familiar with the IIBA Certification program, from Entry Certificate in Business Analysis ™ to Certified Business Analysis Thought Leader ™.
